The man accused of leading an alleged Penn State cocaine ring is now jailed without bail after surrendering Tuesday. GOVERNOR SHAPIRO TIGHTENS REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW PENNSYLVANIA DATA CENTERS
Governor Josh Shapiro has signed an executive order yesterday tightening requirements for new data centers in Pennsylvania. Large projects seeking state permits will face new standards covering energy costs, environmental protections, local hiring and community involvement. Developers must secure required local approvals, and qualifying projects must make legally enforceable commitments to the state’s GRID standards. The order also removes data centers from Pennsylvania’s fast-track permitting program and bars state agencies from signing nondisclosure agreements with developers.
